SRINAGAR, June 26: At the ongoing conclave for development of tourism in Jammu and Kashmir held at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Center (SKICC) here, Director Information Jatin Kishore gave an insightful presentation in the afternoon on film tourism in Jammu and Kashmir. session of the conclave.

The conclave is being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department, aimed at exploring new avenues for promoting tourism in the region.

During the presentation, Director Information highlighted the rich cultural heritage and breathtaking landscapes of Jammu and Kashmir, which serve as an ideal setting for film productions.

Highlighting the economic and promotional benefits of film shooting in the region, Jatin Kishore outlined various strategic initiatives of the J&K government to attract filmmakers and production houses from across the country for film shooting.

He noted that after the launch of J&K Film Policy, more than 350 film shooting rights have been granted to various filmmakers.

He added that a Single Window System has been set up for the processing of film permits so that filmmakers are facilitated at all levels.

After the presentation, a panel discussion was held on ‘Film Tourism and its potential in promoting J&K tourism’, in which Director Information, Jatin Kishore, renowned Bollywood filmmakers and writers like Imtiaz Ali, Vishal Bharadwaj, Kabir Khan, actor Sanjay Suri and lineup producer Khawar Jamsheed joined in.

The participants discussed the potential of the Kashmir Valley, with its scenic beauty and cultural heritage, in the field of film shooting and its prospects for promoting tourism, boosting local economies and creating employment opportunities.

The session also included the panelists interacting with stakeholders involved in the film and tourism industries. The panelists answered several questions from these stakeholders.
